In the territory of the Russian Federation, projects are implemented according to the following mechanisms:

Climate projects are implemented in accordance with national legislation and methodologies. The utilization of carbon units is carried out within the framework of the national Registry. The ultimate goal of using carbon units is to offset the carbon footprint of services or products, as well as to meet the emission quota established by the government.

March 2024: PJSC “SIBUR-Holding” offset 21,789 carbon units for voluntary carbon footprint compensation for the World Youth Festival

June 2024 PJSC Sibur-Holding retired 5,304 carbon units for voluntary compensation of the carbon footprint of SPIEF-2024

July 2024. SIBUR supplied polypropylene to Turkish companies Metal Sentetik and Abdiogulları and transferred carbon units to compensate its carbon footprint (the quantity of carbon units remains unspecified)
Climate projects are implemented according to voluntary carbon standards using methodologies developed by them. The utilization of carbon units is carried out in the registries of these standards. The ultimate goal of using carbon units depends on the standard.
